Sidam, Kedah includes Sidam Kiri which is located in Kuala Muda district, while Sidam Kanan is located in Kulim district. Both areas divided by Sungai Muda where Sidam Bridge marks the border between the two districts.
Sidam Kiri village has a scenic beauty and good climate of palm oil plantations, rubber estates and lustful green paddy fields, while Sidam Kanan has most of its areas covered by paddy fields.
Although rubber plant can be seen in part of the land here but it is not a dominant crop that covers only 5% of the area. Palm oil is the major industry that cultivated at approximately 70% of the total land area follows by Paddy fields that takes the remaining 20%.
Government agencies play an important roles in the irrigation systems and maintaining the drainage for the farmers along the Sungai Muda with the helps of the pump houses.
Flood Mitigation Project has been involved in deepening,widening and bund construction from Sidam Bridge to river mouth of Sungai Muda at length of 40 km stretch.
